
BNSHIA Takes Advocacy Campaign to Holy Ghost Parish, Wadata
The management and staff of the Benue State Health Insurance Agency (BNSHIA) have intensified their public enlightenment drive on the state’s health insurance scheme with an advocacy and sensitization visit to Holy Ghost Parish, Wadata.
The delegation, led by the Executive Secretary of BNSHIA, Prof. Kenneth Korve, engaged parishioners during the Sunday service to explain the objectives, benefits, and enrollment process of the scheme.
Prof. Korve noted that the health insurance programme was designed to ensure that all residents of the state, regardless of social or economic status, have access to affordable and quality healthcare services. He stressed that the government’s goal is to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in line with Social Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 target.
The Executive Secretary, Prof. Korve urged parishioners to take advantage of the scheme by registering themselves and their families, pointing out that it would protect them from the financial hardship of huge medical bills and ensure timely access to medical care when needed.
He intimated them to pay only 15,000 Naira per person per year to access health care in an interval of one year. He emphasized that the Agency's benefit package is comprehensive with 90% of the ailments is covered.
Assistance Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Nyam and parishioners welcomed the sensitization effort, describing it as timely and informative. Many expressed interests in joining the scheme, acknowledging its potential to improve healthcare access within the community.
The visit to Holy Ghost Parish is part of a series of community outreach programmes by BNSHIA aimed at mobilizing residents across different groups, institutions, and faith communities to key into the state’s health insurance initiative.
